Newa Creative Craft has been established by the artist from such family background where his six generation has been working as a stone sculptor. His great grandfather Punya Raj Shakya got a title of Farki Jhya (Crystal Sculptor) in19th century. So far they are known as Farki Jhya family. His grandfather Ananda Raj Shakya started filigree work and established himself as a renound filigree artist. Hence Newa Creative Craft has been established to give new creation to his Newar family work.
INTRODUCTION
The Newars of the Kathmandu valley have an identity here and globally as a creator of master arts and craft which are displayed openly in the world heritage sites of the valley. These beautiful creations and imagination in the form of stone, wood, metal, painting and filigree has become a part of life for many families in the Kathmandu valley. Newa Creative Craft holds the responsibility to conserve, promote and develop Nepali art and culture through filigree, metal and stone carvings. Hence Newa Creative Craft has been working in this sector since 2013A.D.
